Lagoon

On Memorial Day, Daddy surprised everyone (including Mom) by using his extra duty pay from work to buy Lagoon Season Passes for the whole family. So off we went to Lagoon! We expected awful crowds for the holiday, but it wasn't very crowded. I guess everyone headed out of town. (When we got to church Sunday, there were TEN cars in the parking lot!! Everyone was gone.) Of course, everyone's favorite ride was Rattlesnake Rapids. Especially Jarod. This is the ride we went on first, and second, and third, and . . . I think we went on it about 8 times before finally moving on to something else. Thank goodness for no lines! This was Jarod's first ever trip to Lagoon. I don't think he realized that there were amusement parks outside of Disneyland. He was fascinated by everything.

Everytime we went on this ride, Dean ended up being the one to go under the waterfall and get soaked. Too funny.

Road Trip

Well, the rain has returned. Today we decided a road trip in the rain would be more fun than sitting around stuck in the house so we decided to head up American Fork Canyon. By the time we got to Highland the rain had pretty much stopped and the sun was popping out, so we were able to get out of the car and play a bit.As you can see, the water coming down the canyon is very high right now - it is spilling over it's banks in most places. Everything is so green and pretty!Tibble Fork Resevior is also very high. Water is gushing out over the spillway. I had Jarod pose for this great shot. Do you love his outfit? He actually generally has better fashion sense, but I guess he was preparing for any kind of weather. It worked out great because those boots were perfect for wading!
Of course the boys went right for any rocks they could climb. Jarod particularly couldn't wait to stop driving and start heading up the hill. Lindsie wouldn't even get out of the car!It didn't take long for all my boys to head up the rocks (even Joey). Once again, check out the awesome outfit!

We had a nice quiet day. Sometimes it's nice to just "head for the hills." By the time we got back to West Valley, it was raining again. It still is! Nice wet Memorial Day Weekend. Oh well. Better than sweltering hot, and the rain smells good!

Mom's Time Out

This is what Jarod made me at school for mother's day. It is a door hanger that says "Mom's time out." He is so cute with it. Today I was laying down to take a nap after church and he opened the door and told me I forgot my sign. So he went and found it to hang on the door so "no one will bother you." Then he tells me "Have a nice time alone." He is very proud of his creation.

Lindsie's Spring Concert

Wanted to post a few pictures from Lindsie's spring choir concert. No matter what side we sit on, Lindsie always ends up on the opposite side, so we didn't get very cute pictures. She sang some really fun songs that included some cute dances. Wish you all could have been there to see how cute she was. Oh well. Use your imagination!

If you don't like the weather . . . wait a few minutes

It has been a crazy weather Sunday. When we woke up and went to church, it was a nice day with a few clouds. After church it was sunny. About an hour later we heard thunder and looked outside to see pouring rain. A little later it was sunny and nice again. The neighbor kids were playing football in their yard. This evening I opened up all the windows to let the nice air in and I went downstairs. By the time I got downstairs, we had "hurricane winds" outside that liternally picked up our garbage cans and blew them across the street! I was sure my tree was going to break in half. Then more thunder, more pouring rain, and now, 15 minutes later, it is clearing up again.

SUCH IS THE WEATHER IN UTAH!

Mommy's Little Helper

We were spreading compost in the flower beds this evening and Jarod was begging to help. He even went and found himself a little pair of gloves. He was so in to spreading that dirt around! It was really cute. (I might mention that his brother and sister were sitting on their bottoms watching TV! They wouldn't even come outside. BOO!!)
