D.A.R.E.

DJ had his D.A.R.E graduation yesterday (Drug and Alcohol Resistance Education, sponsored by the local police department). All fifth graders go through this program. Here he is receiving his certificate. They also get a T-shirt. All the fifth graders write an essay about what they learned in the program. The two best essays are chosen and those students are the "D.A.R.E. winners." DJ was one of those winners. He got a special medal. His essay was about how he "likes his brain cells" and doesn't want to destroy them. He certainly needs all he can get! hahaha

Way to go DJ!!! Tell him it is good to hold on to as many brain cells as he can, because when you get old like us you don't have very many left!!

Good job D.J. We are proud of you. When I first started reading the blog I got worried he was SENT to the police station! (just kidding). Sounds like you learned a lot from the program. Isn't it sad that our cute little 5th graders are so exposed to that. It used to be high school kids. I'm sure it will be preschool at some point. Maybe D.J. will be the policeman teaching the course by then. Now that you have kept all those brain cells, D.J., don't forget what you learned!
We love you
