Spring Break and Easter Stuff

Our plan for spring break was to head down to Capital Reef, like we usually do. However, we checked the weather forecast for that weekend and it was only supposed to be 40 for the high temperature and snow most days down there, so we canned that idea.

Here are some pictures of what we did instead.

First, meet Joey. In a moment of stupidity, mom agreed to let the children have ANOTHER dog. Yes, we still have big old Max, he is our outside dog. Joey is now our inside dog. He is a bischon and quite small. He actually is very cute. He has become very attached to Lindsie and freaks out if he can't find her. He even sleeps in her bed! We got him from a friend of mine on the first day of spring break. He came house trained and everything which is a BIG plus. So far we have enjoyed him.

The first day of spring break we just hung around the house (it was raining) and got to know our new friend. On Friday, the weather cleared up so we were able to spend the day at the park with the dogs. We had a lot of fun having a picnic then playing on the playgrounds.

Later that night, we decorated easter cookies. Seems ever since Grandma left for the other side of the world, mom has to be in charge of the cookie making. Mom likes it better when Grandma is in charge of the cookie making, because then she is in charge of the cookie cleaning, too!!

Saturday was raining again so we went to the movies. Dad and Jarod saw "Monsters vs. Aliens" and the rest of us saw "Race to Witch Mountain." Both movies were fun.

Sunday it was nice and we were able to have an Easter egg hunt after church. This is the first time we have hunted in our own yard and not in the rocks of Capital Reef. That was kind of fun. Dad gets so busy hiding eggs, he sometimes forgets where he hides them, but we eventually found them all!!

Monday was also nice weather so we went to Mulligans and went miniature golfing. We also went to the batting cages and the driving range. Jarod is quite a golfer for only six years old! He can hit the ball a lot farther than mom!
The week after spring break was a very rainy week. We have had rain every day. Finally this weekend is very nice. We laid compost in our flower beds, then turned on the sprinklers to test them out. The children were quick to get into swimsuits and run in the sprinklers for the first time this year. They had a great time. Not so sure if the dog loved it so much. Poor Joey!

The good, the bad and the . . .

What do you want first? The good news or the bad news?

Bad news . . .
Academic team lost today. On the bright side, Lindsie is a 3rd round player (they have to do the presentation part of the competition). Third round won their part! Their part was undefeated the whole season! YEA LINDSIE!!!

Good news . . .
Dean passed his test!!! It was close and and at first he thought his score was not a passing score. Later found out it was actually a pass. YEA DEAN!!!!

Cool Video

Elder Hollands talk at General Conference was my FAVORITE last week. I happened to stumble across this video and feel that it is a great Easter video. Enjoy!

Jarod the Spy

This picture was so funny, I had to post it. Jarod was running around after school the other day while I was working telling everyone he was a spy. (I think he was trying to spy on his teacher, Mrs. Wallis). My friend took this picture of him making his "spy face" in her classroom.

I think it looks a little more like an Elvis face. What do you think?

Jarod turns 6

The official Bressler famliy birthday hat. We actually got this in Disneyland for Lindsie's birthday, but it cost enough that now it is the family hat! He wore this to breakfast at IHOP.

Grandma Bressler sent a gift card to Build a Bear. Meet Virgil the Elephant. He is in the army.

The after school surprise and the favorite gift! Mom and Dad took the day off work and put this together while he was at school. It was easier than we thought it would be. Jarod has spent all his time outside on the new tramp the last three days.

The party at Chuck E Cheese. Everyone had a really good time.

And finally, the cake. I wish I could say I made this cake, but I am not talented like my little sis. I have to go buy cakes or they look pretty pathetic!

Elite Eight

Lindsie's academic team has won their first national game (after a 3 week wait!!) to move into the elite eight of the nation. Only three games to go! They play again on April 6. That's Grandpa Geilmann's birthday, so maybe it will be a good luck day.

Sorry, no pics this time. I wasn't able to go!
